wow.. i've pretty much forgotten about xanga.  i only came to check it to see C's updates.. i'm VERY excited for her!

not much is going on with me.  i just work.  i work 6 days a week and even on the 1 day i don't work, i still do work related stuff.  it's really hard to work and live in the same building.  sometimes you can't really separate the two.  ..and when i see neighbors, i see them as "tenants" and i feel like i still have to be "professional".. like when we went up on the roof the other night (J, al, wuk, and me), there were other people there, and i felt like i couldn't fully relax and have fun.  instead of enjoying the nice night on the roof, i wanted to go back and hide out in our apt.  ..but overall, it's really not that bad.  i guess it's because i'm comparing it to the last job i had.  eventhough i work 6 days a week, and have long hours, at least i don't have to get up at 5-5:30am. so it allows me to still go out/stay up on the weekends, though i don't get too crazy anymore.. .and it makes me cranky the next day.   like last night, after a late dinner, clubbing at AREA, and then karaoke, we didn't get home until 5:30 and i had to get up at 9:15 for work this morning.  ..which leads to the other "good" thing vs. the last job, i don't have to be so on point here on the weekends since it's open house and it's more relaxed than on the weekdays. ..blagh blagh blagh.. my mind is drifting..

i need a vacation.  i'm HOPING to go back to NY in august with al & J for joe's wedding.  i already miss K's wedding last month because i couldn't escape work.  by august, things should be more settled and S should pick up on everything at work by then.  ..but i want to really escape.  go somewhere new.  another country. .but of course, going back to NYC means seeing my family.  i miss them so much!!.. but luckily, this year, aunt M and uncle B are going to come visit in July!! yipppeeeee!!

yay! another etsy sale from a very old friend (elementary school days)... just reconnected with her on FB and she checked out my site and bought 3 cards!! hope she'll be very happy with them!!

i can't wait until we're settled in so that i can go back to making stuff.. first project is curtains.. james and i should be able to go on friday to pick up the fabric.  the fabric district is like 5-7 blocks from us!!

woke up this morning a little earlier so that i could go downstairs to get a cup of coffee.. (didn't move my small pot and teas yet.).. sweet!! it was a nice walk, just up the block, cross the street, and then half a block.  $1.75-not the NYC chinatown prices nor the old school coffee, but still very convenient!!  it's a beautiful morning too!! like spring/fall in NYC.  it's been a very warm winter in LA this year!  james bought me uggs earlier in the season and i was only able to wear them a handful of times.   ..but i'd really rather have this gorgeous weather!! we've been driving around town and trees are budding/blooming.. it's green everywhere and j was wearing shorts and a t-shirt yesterday!!

aaaaah! just paused to look out my window.. sun's starting to come around the corner and will shine right into the apt in a few hours.  we need to get fabric to make curtains for our windows - something lightweight.  the longest curtains they (target, BBBY, home depot, etc.) sell is 84".  we need about 110" from just barely the top of the window frame to the floor... actually, we want it to sweep the floor just a little bit, so maybe a few inches longer.. i can't wait!! another sewing project!! should be easy since it's basically just sewing in the edges.. .though, we're trying to figure out how we want the curtains to hang... and what's the best way to have it so that the curtains can be pushed over as much as possible.  ..either i'll do a fan-fold with button holes or have the curtains hanging from loops or hoops ..or clips.. need to see what material we pick out. 

first day of work

getting ready for my first day of work!! having my cereal with peach yoghurt and making some tea.. i'm making sure i eat 'cuz i don't know if we'll be busy and when i'll be able to eat.  open house is from 10am - 3pm, so that's not too bad..however, when i was there last week, we still saw some people around at 6-6:30pm.. but still, that's only 8 hours.. no more 10-12hours! woohoo!!. ..and it's raining.. i wonder how that's going to affect the crowd.. michael said it was busy yesterday and it was raining all day yesterday too. .but i guess, if you have to look at apts and if you only have the weekend, you're going to have to go out and look.. a week wasted is a LONG time.. oh!..but tomorrow should be nice.. actually, i hope it rains it all out during the day and tonight will be nice.  al is setting my birthday "party" tonight.. =D  i'm guessing we'll go out clubbing.. i REALLY hope it doesn't rain tonight.. it was POURING rain when we went out for my birthday last year... we ended up going karaokeing because the rain was so bad.. but it was fun! .. oh yeah!.. and there was a surprise guest, angela!. .that was cool.  

the good thing about going into work on a saturday morning is that there's no rush hour traffic.
